The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes adds a new set of character additions with six stars, Kaitlyn Akinpelumi, Sofia Sanchez, Max Raphael, Ayomide Adegun, Zoe Renee, and Amélie Hoeferle, joining the cast of the prequel.

After the announcement of the lead cast of The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes with Tom Blyth as Coriolanus Snow, Hunter Schafer as Tigris Snow, Rachel Zegler as Lucy Gray Baird, Jerome Lance, Knox Gibson, Mackenzie Lansing, Ashley Liao, and Aamer Husain as tributes, and Jason Schwartzman, six new members are joining the cast.

In a report from Deadline, six new additions are joining The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes with Kaitlyn Akinpelumi, Sofia Sanchez, Max Raphael, Ayomide Adegun, Zoe Renee, and Amélie Hoeferle. All their roles are yet to be disclosed.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes will follow the story dating decades back, way before Katniss Everdeen changed the game, and it will center on the young Coriolanus Snow who then became the tyrannical president of Panem in the future.

Snow was a winner of the games who was chosen to be the mentor of the tribute from District 12, Lucy Gray Bird, for the 10th Hunger Games. The movie will neither feature Jennifer Lawrence nor Josh Hutcherson nor even Liam Hemsworth.

The film will be based on Suzanne Collins’ prequel novel which she released in May 2020 and even before its publication, Lionsgate already committed to making it a film in the franchise. The Hunger Games veteran Francis Lawrence will be back to the director’s chair with Catching Fire’s scribe Michael Arndt.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes is scheduled for a theatrical release on November 17, 2023.
