Prince William and Prince Harry’s relationship has been strained throughout the past couple of years.
The Duke of Cambridge rarely talks about his brother in public because, as the future king of Britain, he’s not allowed to do sit-down interviews regarding family feuds and issues. Prince Harry, on the other hand, dropped several bombshells about the royal family and Prince William.
During his interview with Oprah Winfrey last year, Prince Harry revealed that he and Prince William are not necessarily on the best terms. But he also stressed that they love each other and will always support each other no matter what.
“I love William to bits. We’ve been through hell together and we have a shared experience, but we are on different paths. The relationship is space at the moment and time heals all things, hopefully,” Prince Harry said.
Prince William And Prince Harry Have To Trust Each Other, Reach A Mutual Agreement That There’ll Be No Leaks
However, some royal fans couldn’t help but wonder why Prince William and Prince Harry remain estranged from each other if this is really the case. During an interview with Sunrise, royal expert Angela Mollard shared why Prince William and Prince Harry are not on speaking terms.
“If William is to meet with Harry, if they are to ever build a bridge between the two of them, there has to be trust on both sides. [This is] that it will be within them [and] nothing will be leaked. And that they will have each other’s backs. William, as future king, cannot take the risk that his conversations and his, you know, any kind of closeness he establishes with Harry in the future are kept under the cone,” she said (via Express).

Prince William And Prince Harry Do Not Trust Each Other Right Now
In March, a source close to the Duke of Cambridge told Vanity Fair that there’s a lack of trust between him and Prince Harry. As such, there are fears on Prince William’s side that everything that he would tell his brother would be leaked on American TV.
Following Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Winfrey last year, Gayle King confirmed that she spoke to the couple to see how they were after the tell-all aired.
“I’m not trying to break news, but I did actually call them to see how they were feeling, and it’s true, Harry has talked to his brother and he has talked to his father, too. The word I was given was that those conversations were 'not productive.' But they are glad they have at least started a conversation. No one in the royal family has talked to Meghan yet,” she said (via Marie Claire).
Weeks later, Prince William and Prince Harry were photographed in the United Kingdom together when they attended Prince Philip’s funeral. However, the brothers did not talk to each other. And eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that Kate Middleton and Prince Harry were the ones that chatted during the somber outing.
Prince William, Prince Harry’s Relationship Reportedly Irreparable
Last month, another source told Us Weekly that Prince William doesn’t know who Prince Harry is anymore and that their relationship is irreparable.
“They’ll never recover from the damage that has been done,” the source said.
