Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been dubbed renegade royals for quite some time. They were the first two royals of their generation to quit their royal duties amid all the negative statements that they were receiving. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex currently reside in the United States. But they continue to shock the world with their bold moves.
One bold move made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle happened last year when they sat down for an interview with Oprah Winfrey. Their conversation with the famed talk show host was very personal because they detailed some of their harrowing experiences with the royal family.
Meghan Markle, Prince Harry Modernized The Royal Family In A Controversial Way
In an article she penned for New Zealand Herald, royal expert Daniela Elser said that Prince Harry and Markle wouldn’t have been allowed to do a tell-all if this happened 10 years ago. After all, sitting down for interviews, especially when it’s about personal drama, is looked down upon by the royal family.
“There was a time when royal life was defined by what was on the verboten list: No selfies, no talking about one's feelings, no public displays of affection. They're obviously dominoes that have all fallen and even a decade ago, with Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge newly on the books, the very notion that Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall might appear on the cover of Vogue, Prince William would record a podcast, and talk about his love of AC/DC and that Prince Harry would pop on a US TV network to complain about his family would have been side-splittingly, laughably ridiculous. Now, the options open to an enterprising HRH intent on making it in the 21st century are pretty much legion,” she said (via Express).
In her article, Elser also claimed that despite all the things that Prince Harry and Markle have done, there’s one thing that the Duke of Sussex can’t still do, and that is to move on.

Are Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Planning A Second Tell-All With Oprah Winfrey?
There are ongoing reports that Prince Harry and Markle are planning a second tell-all with Winfrey, where they will talk about recent events, including the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Some royal experts are convinced that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex felt that they were snubbed by the British clan, particularly Prince William and Kate Middleton. The couples crossed paths, but they did not even look each other in the eye. And the Cambridges also skipped Lilibet Diana’s first birthday party at Frogmore Cottage.
Prince Harry, Meghan Markle Felt Snubbed By The Royal Family With Last Year’s Christmas Photo
Reports claiming that Prince Harry and Markle felt snubbed by the royal family are not new. In fact, months after their tell-all, Prince Harry’s friend said that he felt erased from the royal family following the Christmas photo snub.
During her Christmas speech, eagle-eyed royal fans noticed that Her Majesty didn’t have a photo of the Sussexes on her display. And according to royal author Christopher Andersen, the monarch did this on purpose.
“I think this is a turning point. There are all sorts of subtle messages that are conveyed in this, kind of soap opera that goes on. In 2018, she sat there in front of a Christmas tree. She gave her Christmas address and there were the family photos including Archie and Megan and Harry, very prominently displayed,” he told Us Weekly.
Andersen also said that this must have been hurtful for Prince Harry to see. After all, photos of Prince Philip, Prince Charles, Camilla Parker Bowles, Prince William, Middleton, and their three children were all there.
“It seems very subtle, but when you think about it, when somebody cuts you out of the family album, so to speak, it’s a pretty strong message,” he said.
As of writing, there’s still no confirmation as to whether Prince Harry and Markle will indeed appear in a second tell-all with Winfrey.
