Prince Louis received a slew of mixed reactions from royal fans following his antics at the queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
The initial comments were mostly positive after the 4-year-old made faces during the Trooping the Colour. But after the public saw Prince Louis misbehaving in front of Kate Middleton, they started slamming the Duchess of Cambridge due to her inability to handle her youngest child.
In fact, some of the comments quickly turned sour as some royal fans went as far as calling Prince Louis a brat. After all, he was spotted sticking his tongue out at the Duchess of Cambridge and making funny faces while his mom was reprimanding him.
Princess Charlotte Was Stressed During Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Because Of Prince Louis
According to body language expert Blanca Cobb, the royal fans weren’t the only ones who were displeased with Prince Louis’s behavior at the queen’s Platinum Jubilee. There was also, reportedly, one member of the royal family that was visibly upset, and it was his older sister, Princess Charlotte.
“Charlotte has her head down, eyes closed, and forehead tension. Most prominently, the muscle between her eyebrows is contracted, which indicates stress. Their mother, on the other hand, finds Louis’ outburst a bit amusing. Look at Kate’s fingers and you’ll see that she’s quite relaxed. She’s casually holding on to her clutch while either laughing or yelling along with her son. Moms know that sometimes you have to try different tactics to redirect your children. Perhaps, Kate thought that the noise was bothering Louis. And a laugh is a light-hearted, nonverbal way of saying that she understands that the noise is bothersome and it’s OK,” she said (via Cheat Sheet).

Kate Middleton Didn’t Become Upset With Prince Louis Despite His Behavior
Cobb also commented on Middleton’s body language during her outing with her children. Even though it was obvious that she struggled with handling Prince Louis, the body language expert said that the mom of three wasn’t cross with her youngest child.
“I don’t think that Kate Middleton was secretly cross with Prince Louis for misbehaving on the balcony. I think that Kate was trying to settle down with Prince Louis in a loving, compassionate, and understanding way. Perhaps, she asked him to remove his fingers from his mouth. Or, perhaps, she asked him what was wrong. Sometimes, a little attention from a parent is enough to redirect a child’s behavior,” she said.

Prince William and Middleton also took the negative comments that they received lightly following their outing. The couple thanked the public for all their love and support during the queen’s Platinum Jubilee via a lengthy social media post.
Toward the end of their special message, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge even gave their son a shoutout.
“What a fantastic weekend of celebrations. Seeing people across the nation coming together with family, friends, and loved ones have been extremely special. Thank you to everyone who turned out to show their gratitude to The Queen and her inspiring 70 years of leadership. From the crowds on the mall to communities hosting street parties up and down the country, we hope you had a weekend to remember. We all had an incredible time, especially Louis…” the couple captioned a series of photos.
And the last photo that they shared is a black and white snap of Prince William walking alongside Prince Louis.
