There's no doubt that Disney is capitalizing big-time on its acquisition of 20th Century Fox and the House of Mouse excitingly announced in May of last year that a new Percy Jackson project is on its way to be overseen by its creator Rick Riordan who previously expressed his disappointment over the film adaptations of the now-iconic fantasy series. The said project will be a television series exclusive to Disney+ and while major details about it still remain under wraps, what we know so far is that it will adapt The Lightning Thief storyline for its first season.

Since the official announcement last year, fans have been excited about the project and unsurprisingly, a lot of them want Logan Lerman to be involved in some capacity. Of course, considering the series will pretty much be a reboot, Lerman reprising his role as Percy Jackson seems impossible but people who are adamant about seeing him back have a brilliant idea and that is for the actor to get cast as Poseidon in the show.

Now, with Riordan officially confirming that casting is underway for the series, the campaign demanding Disney to cast Lerman as one of the twelve Olympians saw a renewed push online and it's clear that fans will stop at nothing to see the actor back in the franchise. Check out some of the reactions here:

The first two Percy Jackson films may not have hit the mark with avid fans of the book series but the reboot could easily change all that. Considering Riordan will be heavily involved in the creation of the project, we can all rest assured that it will be night and day compared to the first two live-action adaptations.

No official release date has been announced for the Percy Jackson reboot.
