Oshi no Ko's new trailer is no doubt the highlight of the reveal as it finally gives fans a proper look at what to expect.

After all, the manga is popular not only for its compelling drama but also for its beautifully drawn visuals.

From the looks of it, the clips in the new trailer capture the style of the manga nicely.

The starry eyes of Ai Hoshino and her children are particularly striking. Check it out here:

Along with sharing the first proper look at some of the anime’s scenes, the trailer also previewed the opening song entitled Idol by the Japanese pop music duo, YOASOBI.

During the showcase, YOASOBI members Ayase and Ikura expressed their excitement for the highly anticipated anime.

Given the series’ idol industry-inspired story, it’s a bit of a surprise to see that the production went with YOASOBI instead of an idol group for the opening theme.

Despite this, fans received the news warmly as YOASOBI is one of the most popular music acts in Japan right now.

They also have quite a track record as they performed the openings of Beastars and Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury.

Alongside the opening theme, another voice cast member was revealed.

Specifically, it was announced that Megumi Han will voice the fan favorite Kana Arima.

For Oshi no Ko manga readers, the choice was a bit unexpected given that some were hoping for the likes of Kana Hanazawa or Miyu Tomita to be cast.

Though many believe Han to be the right choice given her track record.

Megumi Han is perhaps best known for voicing Gon Freecss in the 2011 Hunter x Hunter anime.

She also voiced Atsuko Kagari in Little Witch Academia and Momiji Soma in Fruits Basket.

The Oshi no Ko anime will feature a 90-minute first episode that will be released in Japanese cinemas on March 17, 2023.

Following its cinema release, Oshi no Ko will premiere in April 2023. It is confirmed to stream with English subtitles outside Japan, but not on Crunchyroll.
