After the previous volume cover showed the first official look at Luffy’s new form in color, One Piece has just revealed the Volume 104 cover which features a clear look at Luffy in his Gear Fifth form.

The new volume cover was shared online via the official One Piece Twitter account.

While the cover itself was only revealed earlier today, a video teasing the cover was shared a few days ago, also on the series’ official Twitter account.

What Is One Piece Volume 104 About?

The work-in-progress video was shared on October 21, and it showed the cover being drawn, starting with Luffy in his Gear Fifth form.

This is followed by the drawing of other elements in the colorful cover, including Momonosuke’s Pink Dragon form and Kozuki Hiyori.

This upcoming volume includes Chapters 1047 to 1055, meaning it covers the climax and the ending of the Wano Country Arc which is the longest arc in the series so far.

Wano is a significant arc for many reasons, and not just because of its length. This arc (also considered by fans as a whole saga) sees Luffy become powerful enough to defeat an Emperor, not to mention that it revealed lots of interesting info that are important in setting up the series finale.

It’s confirmed that following Wano, One Piece will enter its final arc (or final saga).

Based on the events of Wano, it makes sense given that Luffy and his crew are close to finding the final island on the Grand Line.

While Volume 103 already showed off Luffy’s Gear Fifth, it was shown at a distance, meaning there are not a lot of details that can be seen.

But in this new cover, Luffy dominates the artwork, giving fans a clear look at his powerful new form in full color.

As revealed before, Luffy’s new form transforms his hair and clothes into white while his sash turns a purple color.

Alongside Luffy, the cover features Momonosuke’s Pink Dragon form to the left, with his sister Kozuki Hiyori on the right. Below the cover art is a view of the Wano Country’s Flower Capital.

Aside from being a major power-up, Gear Fifth is significant as it reveals new info about Luffy’s Devil Fruit, including the fact that it was originally known as the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika, a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit.

One Piece Volume 104 will be released in Japan on November 4, 2022. Right now, there’s no word yet on a release date outside Japan.
