After getting a look at Luffy’s Gear Fifth color scheme, we finally have an even better view of it with this first look at the One Piece Volume 103 cover.
The official One Piece Twitter account recently shared a new video that features the cover of Volume 103. The video shows a cool work-in-progress animation of the next volume cover. You can check it out here:
Instead of being just a simple cover reveal, seeing an animated video of the cover being made is a treat for One Piece fans.
According to the Tweet, the Volume 103 cover was initially made by series creator Eiichiro Oda digitally. Though it was then completed with “analog” pen and paper.

Even though it’s not the final cover yet, it does confirm the color scheme of Luffy’s Gear Fifth form. As revealed recently, Gear Fifth features Luffy in a nearly all-white outfit with a purple sash for a pop of color.
Alongside Luffy’s Gear Fifth form, the cover also features Kaidou, Trafalgar Law, and Eustass Kid in the foreground.

Volume 103 will include Chapters 1036 to 1047. It is during these parts of the manga that Luffy unlocks the powerful Gear Fifth transformation, enabling him to transform almost any object into rubber.

The full cover of the next volume will be unveiled on Saturday, July 23, 2022. That day marks the second-day celebration of One Piece Day which is happening tomorrow, July 22.
One Piece Volume 103 will release in Japan on August 4, 2022. Currently, there’s no word yet on when the volume will release outside Japan.
Given the upcoming English release schedule, Volume 103 is expected to release later in 2023.
