Ahead of its return on the 25th, author Eiichiro Oda released a big update regarding the One Piece manga’s final arc.

Back in June, Eiichiro Oda announced that he was going to take a month-long break from June 27 to July 25 following the end of the Wano arc.

During the break, Oda will rest and get ready for the series’ final arc. Oda is also set to visit the One Piece live-action set during this time.

Now though, Oda has released another special message where he shared some new insight into the series’ final arc. The message was translated into English and shared by Artur - Library of Ohara on Twitter.

To start, Oda shared that when he was a kid, he wanted to “draw a manga where the finale is its highest peak” and he wonders if he can pull it off.

Oda also followed that “preparations are finally done” for the finale and that it “only took 25 years LOL.”

With this update, Oda confirms that he has big plans for the One Piece final arc and it promises to be the highest peak of the series.

Oda also shared that he will be “drawing every single secret in this world [he’s] been hiding up until now.” This is a good promise that the series will end satisfyingly and will leave no stone unturned.

One Piece is one of the longest-running manga on Weekly Shonen Jump as it has been in serialization since July 1997 and is now over 1,000 chapters long.

Given its popularity and its status as one of Shonen Jump’s flagship series, the ending of One Piece is one that fans are highly anticipating.

The ending will also mark an end of an era for Shonen Jump as the last of its “big three” will finally reach its conclusion following the end of Naruto back in 2012 and 2014, respectively.
