One Piece Animation Brings Gear Fifth into Life


Both the anime and manga versions of One Piece are going to the War For Wano arc with Luffy getting some major power-ups in both adaptations. A fan of the staple title took this as a way to show his creativity and love for the series as he reimagines how Gear Fifth would come to life with an animation that will surely make everyone excited for what comes next.

On Twitter, an artist, @Kiecaburn, shared his imagination of what Gear Fifth would look like once it comes back to life. His art recreates one of the major moments of Luffy in the War For Wano arc in his new transformation with lightning around him so he could combat Kaido who is in his all-powerful dragon form.

To date, Gear Fifth is the strongest form of Luffy allowing him to increase in size, and transform himself at will. Luffy can even influence the environment around him by turning things into rubber to counter Kaido who also has the ability to grow and shrink in size. Luffy grabs a lightning bold to attack Kaido and it is one of the biggest battles in the whole history of One Piece.

Gear Fifth is yet to appear in the anime adaptation of One Piece but it is building up to the release of Luffy’s strongest form to date. The fans even call this point of the show as “Roof Piece.” Given that the battle with Kaido is expected to be one of the biggest battles in the history of One Piece, surely, Luffy’s Gear Fifth will make an impressive entrance.

One Piece is a Japanese manga series by Eiichiro Oda. It first release on July 1997 and it is currently published on Shueisha's shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shōnen Jump, and on Viz Media. It follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and the rest of the Straw Hat Pirates as they look for the fabled treasure known as the “One Piece” which would give Luffy the title of the King of the Pirates.
