The premiere of One Piece Film: Red is only a little over a month away but we're still learning new things about the highly anticipated movie. It has just been confirmed that the anime feature will introduce the Jellyfish Pirates, a new crew who will play an important role in the film. In addition to the character design for the new characters, the voice actors playing the pirates have been announced!
The official One Piece Film: Red Twitter account has shared our first glimpse at the Jellyfish Pirates who will be led by Captain Eboshi. He is joined by Hanagasa and Kaginote.
It was soon confirmed that Captain Eboshi will be played by Yuki Yamada while Japanese comedy duo Shimofuri Myojo, Soshina and Seiya, will portray Hanagasa and Kaginote, respectively. The new characters were created by Eiichiro Oda specifically for the movie.
It's great to know that there will be more awesome characters to meet in One Piece Film: Red. It has already been confirmed that the movie will center around Uta, who will be played by Kaori Nazuka. The most recent addition to the cast had been Kenjiro Tsuda, who will provide the voice of Gordon.
It was previoiusly confirmed that Shuichi Ikeda, Aruno Tahara, Jin Domon, Michitaka Kobayashi, and Shiro Saito would return as Shanks, Ben Beckman, Lucky Roux, Yassop, and Rockstar, respectively.
They will be joined by Kenichi Ono as Lime Juice, Kotaro Nakamura as Bonk Punch, Bin Shimada as Monster, Issei Futamata as Building Snake, Hikaru Midorikawa as Hongou, and Jouji Nakata as Howling Gabu.
The film will also star Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji, Ikue Otani as Chopper, Yuriko Yamaguchi as Nico Robin, Kazuki Yao as Franky, Cho as Brook, and Katsuhisa Hoki as Jimbei.
One Piece Film: Red will be released in theaters in Japan on August 6, 2022. The international release dates are set for Fall 2022.
