Following Yoshihiro Togashi's iconic series' resumed serialization, Eiichiro Oda recently released a special crossover fanart of One Piece and Hunter x Hunter.

This new illustration was presented in Togashi’s ongoing exhibit in Tokyo entitled TOGASHI YOSHIHIRO -PUZZLE-.

Along with the artwork to commemorate the exhibit, Oda also had a special message for his fellow mangaka where he detailed how Togashi’s works have inspired him over the years.

If you’re a manga fan, then you’re probably already familiar with both Oda and Togashi. But if for some reason you aren’t, here’s a quick rundown of these two manga legends.

Eiichiro Oda is the creator of One Piece, the bestselling manga of all time. The series began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump back in 1997, and it has since become a massive media franchise with a long-running TV anime, games, and more.

Meanwhile, Yoshihiro Togashi is another manga artist who began his career a couple of years before Oda.

His first major work is Yu Yu Hakusho, a battle shonen manga from the early 90s that proved to be one of the enduring icons of the decade.

Togashi followed this up with Level E, a sci-fi comedy that ran from 1995 to 1997. After this, Togashi began Hunter x Hunter, a series that’s arguably his biggest yet.

Hunter x Hunter began in 1998, one year after Oda’s One Piece. The series then became one of Shonen Jump’s biggest hits.

Although Togashi has gone on several hiatuses over the past years, the series returned just this October.

To celebrate his long-running career, an exhibit featuring Togashi’s works opened on October 28 featuring exclusive artworks from his iconic titles.

Aside from Togashi’s works, the exhibit also featured a special illustration by Oda which sees Chopper and Luffy alongside Hunter x Hunter's Gon Freecss.

To go along with the artwork, Oda also released a message for Togashi. There, he recounted how thankful he was to Togashi for judging his work for the Rookie of the Year Award decades ago.

Oda also mentioned that he admired Togashi as an author and that he considers his titles to be moving.

Both One Piece and Hunter x Hunter are currently serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump, with new chapters also being released on Manga Plus outside Japan.

As for Togashi’s exhibit, it is open at the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo from October 28, 2022, to January 9, 2023.
