Today marks the official 25th anniversary of One Piece, and to mark this special milestone, a commemorative movie that chronicles the iconic series’ long history has been released.

The commemorative video is over 5 minutes long and is uploaded on the official One Piece YouTube channel. The video is entitled "3,463 Adventures" and you can check it out here:

The video features a look back at the series’ history, and it shows some of the most memorable moments from the manga, making it a must-watch for longtime series fans.

A touching addition to the video is the 3,643 pen nibs that are followed as the manga panels are shown. This is a reference to the total number of pen nibs that series creator Eiichiro Oda used since he started One Piece.

As One Piece began serialization on Weekly Shonen Jump back in July 1997, the manga currently has over 1,000 chapters collected in over 100 volumes. Given this, it’s no surprise to see that Oda has used over 3,000 pen nibs over the last 25 years to write and illustrate the series.

Aside from being one of the longest-running manga on Weekly Shonen Jump, One Piece is also one of the most iconic media franchises from Japan.

Currently, the franchise has an over 1,000-episode long anime series, more than a dozen movies, and several video game adaptations.

The series’ 25th-anniversary celebration doesn’t end with the commemorative movie though as the One Piece Day event is happening today and tomorrow.

The event started today with the premiere of One Piece Film: Red at the Nippon Budokan in Tokyo. The premiere featured an opening panel attended by the film’s voice cast, and this panel was livestreamed online with English commentary.

The first day of One Piece Day ended with the world premiere of the film’s second trailer. The event will continue tomorrow with another livestream where announcements are lined up for fans.

One Piece Day – Day 2 will stream live on the series' official YouTube channel tomorrow, July 23 at 10 AM JST.
