We have been getting regular updates on One Piece Film: RED for several weeks now and it looks like we're getting the best one on Wednesday. A new teaser for the movie is dropping tomorrow and it could finally feature real footage from the highly anticipated film!
The update comes from the official One Piece Film: RED Twitter account right after the latest poster which puts the focus on Jinbe. In addition to confirming that a new teaser is being dropped, the post shared the link to the video so fans can watch the trailer as soon as it goes live.
This is great news considering that we have only seen storyboards and sketches from the movie so far, thanks to the first teaser. Although the new character designs have already been revealed, we have yet to see the Straw Hats in action. With that in mind, we're hoping that the new One Piece Film: RED teaser will feature actual footage from the movie.
One Piece Film: RED will be directed by Goro Taniguchi while Tsutomu Kuroiwa wrote the screenplay. Eiichiro Oda himself serves as executive producer on the movie.
The film will star Mayumi Tanaka as Monkey D. Luffy, Kazuya Nakai as Roronoa Zoro, Akemi Okamura as Nami, Kappei Yamaguchi as Usopp, Hiroaki Hirata as Sanji, Ikue Otani as Chopper, Yuriko Yamaguchi as Nico Robin, Kazuki Yao as Franky, Cho as Brook, Katsuhisa Hoki as Jimbei, and Shuichi Ikeda as Red-Haired Shanks. The voice actor for the new character has not yet been revealed.
The new teaser will be dropped on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, at 7:00AM JST. You can watch it here.
One Piece Film: RED will be released in theaters in Japan on August 6, 2022. The international release dates have not yet been announced.
