Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's attendance at King Charles' coronation is still uncertain. There are reports claiming that the Duke of Sussex might attend solo. If he does so, his wife reportedly has a good reason to stay home in California.

Meghan Markle Has The 'Perfect Excuse' To Not Join King Charles' Coronation

Many believed His Majesty would love to see the Duke and Duchess of Sussex during his coronation. However, there is a mixed opinion about their attendance following the attacks they made against the royal family in their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan, and his memoir Spare.

If Markle chose to stay at home, royal expert Charles Rae believed that she had enough reason to do so because their son Archie would be celebrating his 4th birthday on the same day.

"There is also suggestions that only Harry will come. Let's not forget that Meghan has a perfect excuse not to turn up," he said, Hindustan Times reported. "On the same day, it is the fourth birthday of little Archie. So, it may well be that she'll stay behind and enjoy the celebrations with her son."

"There is an argument that says Harry and Meghan should be there. Then, there also an argument that says they shouldn't be there because of what's happened in the past, the continual sniping at other members of the family."

Rae acknowledged that the topic is a "thorny subject." He believed King Charles "wants his son to be there" because his coronation is "a big thing and a big event for Britain." In his opinion, Prince Harry should attend his father's coronation.

Will Prince Harry, Royal Family Reconcile Before King Charles' Coronation

Last week, a report claimed that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex hadn't received an invite yet. However, several sources claimed that King Charles is definitely sending them an invite.

However, royal commentator and expert Robert Jobson said, to his knowledge, there has been no effort from the firm to reach out to the Sussexes. He also debunked the claim that King Charles asked for the Archbishop of Canterbury's help to convince Prince Harry and Markle to attend his coronation.

"My understanding is that there's been no real contact whatsoever, so I don't know where a lot of people are getting it from. I'm told that it's not the case," Jobson said.

"The last thing they'll want to be doing is having all sorts of reconciliation talks in the middle of a coronation. The world doesn't revolve around Meghan and Harry even if they think it does. They're focused on state visits to Germany and France and then the coronation."
