But in Revenge: Meghan, Harry, and the War Between the Windsors, Tom Bower claimed that this wasn’t the case. Based on the information he gathered from one of Markle’s former friends, he found out that the former actress researched extensively about who Prince Harry was before meeting him for the first time at Dean Street London.
“She had researched Harry very carefully and knew what motivated him. His unhappiness about Diana, his love for Africa, and the animals. And that he was a very unhappy man. She’s very clever,” Bower told Closer UK.
The author also claimed that Markle just used her exes, Corey Vitiello and Trevor Engelson, as a stepping stone until she met someone more famous than them.

Bower also talked about Markle’s claims against the royal family, saying that they ignored her requests to seek professional help after her mental health suffered.
“The royal family tried very hard to welcome her. I think it was quite clear from her conduct before the wedding and all of the celebrities she invited that she was using the royal family to promote herself,” Bower said.

Of course, Bower did not also shy away from talking about the alleged rift between the Sussexes and the Cambridges. He said that even though Prince Harry and Markle’s Megxit helped improve Prince William and Kate Middleton’s popularity, it’s still obvious that the Cambridges were deeply hurt by everything that has happened.
“I think they’ve been outrageously wounded by Meghan’s assault and Harry’s behavior. I feel very sorry for them. Now, they are having to repair the damage the Sussexes have caused. I’m delighted they’re going to America to show them who the real royals are. They’re taking the battle to them,” Bower said.
The royal author also shared details from his meeting with Markle’s dad, Thomas Markle Sr. He said that he spent two days with the former lighting director. And even though he’s hurt over everything that’s happened, Thomas reportedly said that he still loves his daughter.

Bower also weighed in on Prince Harry’s memoir and said that the contents of the book will determine whether the strained relationships within the royal family could still be repaired.
“Their overheads are vast and they have nothing to deliver to Netflix. Meghan made a terrible mistake dumping on the royal family because they were her calling card. Their rift can be mended if they don’t cause any more damage, but they earn their money cause damage so it’s a catch-22,” Bower said.
