Kate Middleton Shock: Prince William’s Wife’s Hugging Spree an Overkill Response to Meghan Markle? Royal Expert Says It Feels ‘Orchestrated'

Kate Middleton has shown the world that Meghan Markle was wrong about her — she's a hugger. However, some felt that it was an "overkill," according to a report.

Kate Middleton's Hugs Reportedly Feels Orchestrated

The Princess of Wales has been seen hugging people. She gave Captain Preeet Chandi a warm embrace to congratulate her for her record-breaking expedition in Antarctica. She also gave a former teacher a big hug.

Middleton's hugging spree came after her sister-in-law Meghan Markle claimed that hugging was jarring to some Brits as she recalled her first encounter with the Duchess of Cambridge.

Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito discussed Middleton's hugging spree on their Royally Obsessed podcast.

Bowie noted:

"We obviously saw the Waleses’ doubling down with some hugging — big deep hugging shots posted front and center to their social media."

Fiorito chimed in and shared her thoughts about it.

"It does feel a little orchestrated … There’s definitely some weird feelings about it because you are making an effort to hug people that, I feel like, normally you wouldn’t."

Prince Harry's biographer, Angela Levin, also felt Middleton's hugging spree unusual. For the Harry: Biography of a Prince author, it's unlikely for someone to hug a former teacher. She told GB News:

"I think it’s slightly unusual for you to really hug your former history teacher. I never hugged any of my teachers, however nice they were. [Kate] also hugged a young woman who had been on a polar expedition. And she gave her a huge hug, too. They were real monster hugs."

Kate Middleton Claps Back At Meghan Markle?

The future queen consort has no way to respond to Markle's allegation that she's not a hugger. So, there are speculations that her only way to show that Markle was wrong about her was to show the world that she's indeed a hugger.

Markle implied in an episode of Harry & Meghan on Netflix that Middleton was not a hugger when she recounted their first meeting. Markle described herself as a "hugger", and she didn't know that it can be "really jarring for a lot of Brits."

However, an anonymous source defended Prince William's wife. The tipster told People that Middleton is a "big hugger." The Princess of Wales is reportedly warm and friendly, and she greets everyone with a big hug and kiss, which is natural for her.
