Kate Middleton just showed that Meghan Markle was wrong about her. Prince Harry's wife previously claimed that hugging is jarring for the Brits when she recalled meeting the Princess of Wales for the first time. However, it wasn't what the public witnessed with Middleton's engagement last week.
Kate Middleton On A Hugging Spree Last Week
Prince William's wife was on a hugging spree during her engagements last week. When she congratulated Captain Preet Chandi, a British physiotherapist and British Army medical officer, for her record-breaking expedition in Antarctica during a school visit Wednesday, she hugged her.
When the Prince and Princess of Wales visited Cornwall Thursday and Middleton reunited with one of her former teachers, she hugged him. She opened her arms wide to give her teacher at St. Andrew's prep school in Pangbourne a warm embrace.
"Oh my goodness," the royal mom of three as she embraced him, adding, "I do recognize you. I remember the classroom and everything."
"The things you taught me, I now teach to my children," she added, referring to her three children — Prince George, 9, Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4.
Many wondered if she was pushing back on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's claim that she wasn't a hugger, People reported.
Meanwhile, Hindustan Times claimed that the future queen consort may have done it to annoy Markle.
What Did Meghan Markle Say About Kate Middleton
Markle recounted the first time she met Middleton in one episode of her and Prince Harry's Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan. According to her, she was wearing ripped jeans and was barefoot when Prince William and Middleton came over for dinner.
"I was a hugger. I've always been a hugger, I didn't realise that that is really jarring for a lot of Brits," she said.
"I guess I'd start to understand very quickly that the formality on the outside, carried through on the inside. There is a forward-facing way of being and then you close the door and you relax now. But that formality carries over on both sides. And that was surprising to me."

However, after the said episode aired, with Markle implying Middleton was not a hugger, an insider came forward and debunked the Duchess of Sussex's claim.
"Kate's a big hugger," an anonymous source told People. "She is warm and friendly and greets everyone with a big hug and kiss. It comes naturally to her to be like that."
