There is little doubt that Jujutsu Kaisen has a slew of collaborations this year. However, the most recent one wasn't even a serious collaboration to start with. The franchise suggested a collaboration with Pui Pui Molcar as an April Fool's joke but now it's officially happening!
The official Jujutsu Kaisen anime Twitter account shared the news confirming that the collaboration with Pui Pui Molcar has become a reality. The tweet also shared awesome new illustrations that will be released as part of the project.
On April 1, the account shared an image of Tokyo Prefectural Jujutsu High School principal Masamichi Yaga working on another doll for his Cursed Corpse technique and it just happens to be the character Potato from Pui Pui Molcar. The stop-motion animation's own Twitter account quickly retweeted the post and fans loved the interaction. Amazingly, this adorable interaction would lead to a real collaboration just two weeks later.
Pui Pui Molcar is set in a world where people drive sentient vehicles that are a hybrid of guinea pigs and cars. The show is a huge hit with Japanese children and adults alike so it's no surprise that Jujutsu Kaisen is excited to collaborate with the franchise.
The Pui Pui Molcar collaboration isn't the only major collaboration for Jujutsu Kaisen this year. We previously learned about the Dolce & Gabbana collaboration. It was also confirmed that the franchise is collaborating with Sanrio for adorable merchandise that will be released in June. In addition to that, Jujutsu Kaisen is once again working with Sega on a new set of kuji (sure-win lottery) later this year.
For now, the Jujutsu Kaisen x Pui Pui Molcar merchandise has only been announced and the release date for the merchandise has not yet been revealed. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
