Jujutsu Kaisen Confirms Chapter 178 Delay Due to Gege Akutami Health Issues


Jujutsu Kaisen is officially taking a short hiatus this week. After rumors that Chapter 178 will not be featured in the upcoming issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, an official statement has confirmed the delay. In addition to that, it was revealed that the manga is taking a break due to Gege Akutami's poor health condition.

The statement was shared by the official Jujutsu Kaisen Twitter account and it confirms that Chapter 178 will not appear in Weekly Shonen Jump #15 which is set to be released on Monday, March 14, 2022. It is also confirmed that Gege Akutami was unable to complete the chapter due to their poor physical condition.

It's not all bad news. The statement also assures fans that Gege Akutami is currently recovering and will be able to continue working on the chapter soon. In the meantime, Chapter 178 is expected to be published in Weekly Shonen Jump #16 which will be released on Saturday, March 19, 2022.

Interestingly, the delay should have caused an uproar in the fandom. However, fans are very understanding and have been hoping that Gege Akutami will get better soon. After all, this isn't the first time that the manga has been put on hold due to the mangaka's health issues. Nevertheless, fans are eager to get Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 178 in the following week.

But what can we expect in Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 178? The previous chapter concluded with Yuta Okkotsu facing Ryu Ishigori in an epic fight while also being attacked by Takako Uro. However, the chapter also concluded with Okkotsu summoning the Rika Curse, asking her to give him her full power. Needless to say, it's going to be an exciting chapter and one to look forward to next week.

Jujutsu Kaisen Chapter 178 is expected to be published in Weekly Shonen Jump Issue #16, which will be out on March 21, 2022.
