Eve has long been synonymous with anime. Soon, the Jujutsu Kaisen singer Eve will release a new manga titled Tobi to Ryuko, which is a collaboration with the artist Mariyasu.
Details about this new manga were shared in the latest issue of Monthly Comic Gene by Kadokawa. There, the manga’s key visual was shared, along with a release date.
Eve working on a manga may be a surprise to some, but this is not his first time venturing outside of music.
Eve’s Previous Ventures in the Manga and Light Novel Space
It’s fair to say that, for most anime fans, Eve is best known as the singer of popular songs like Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1’s first OP, the Chainsaw Man anime’s 12th ED, and the My Hero Academia Season 6 ED.
Eve is not just an anime singer though, as he’s a popular artist both in and outside of Japan. What’s more, Eve also produces his tracks, not to mention that he’s heavily involved in the direction of his music videos.
In fact, the release of a new Eve music video is a big event for fans, especially as there are theories about a larger narrative in his videos.
Aside from his MVs, Eve has also ventured into the manga and light novel space. Back in April 2020, Eve began a manga titled Kara no Kioku, which was illustrated by Newo.
In 2022, he published the first volume of his light novel series, How to Eat Life.
As if having these two projects isn’t enough, Eve is now gearing up for another series, this time, it’s a collaboration with an artist that he has worked with before.

New Eve Manga Tobi to Ryuko to Begin Serialization Next Month
This new manga is titled Tobi to Ryuko, and it will follow Tobi, a guy with a talking bag named Baku. Soon, he meets a mysterious girl named Ryuko.
Its story is still a bit vague, though Eve fans will no doubt be familiar with the series’ key visual. After all, the characters seem the same as the ones who appeared in Eve’s Fight Song music video.
There’s a chance that these are the same characters, as the upcoming manga will be illustrated by Mariyasu. This artist also directed Eve’s Fight Song video.
The Tobi to Ryuko manga is set to be released on February 15 in the next Monthly Comic Gene issue. Currently, there’s no word on English release plans for the manga.
