No matter what critics or fans think of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we all know that Director Zack Snyder is still in charge of the show. The 50-year-old filmmaker is set to helm two of DC's biggest and upcoming films to date – Justice League Parts One and Two.
Well, some very frustrated fans have taken it upon themselves to change that fact. There are now two Change.org petitions requesting Zack Snyder to be removed from the franchise.
Seems a bit harsh, but it's true. One petition is based in the United States, while the other one is from India.
The U.S. petition specifically requests for another filmmaker to direct Justice League. The idea of this petition is that a better director should helm the next big DC film so that fans wouldn't have to be divided. The petition claims that the material is rich enough to make a great movie, but Snyder is simply not the director for it. As of this writing, the U.S.-based petition is now 4 signatures shy of 700 supporters.
Meanwhile, the second petition based in India doesn't just want Snyder booted off of Justice League, it wants Warner Bros. to remove the director taken off from the entire DC franchise. The petition did point out Snyder's ability to make stunning visuals, but apparently at the cost of losing good story. The petition simply described the director as one who "cannot tell a story." As of this writing, this petition has exactly 309 supporters.
Clearly, both petitions show fans' passionate loathing towards Snyder's work on Batman v Superman.
It's interesting to note though that while the two petitions come from opposite sides of the world, both were started six days ago and the two received most of their support over the last couple of days. With the movie making big bucks at the box office, it seems pretty far from happening that Snyder will be actually pulled off from the Justice League, which is due to start filming in just over a week.
If anything though, these petitions show how much people care about these movies, and hopefully Snyder will see them and take these fans' opinions into consideration.
