Jenna Ortega Gets Honest About Her Viral Wednesday Dance Scene

Wednesday has become Netflix's latest big hit on their platform as it garnered around a billion hours of views in its first month of release. Not only that, but the series has also become a viral sensation on TikTok as people around the world recreate the viral dance scene accompanied by the speed-up version of Lady Gaga's "Bloody Mary."

The dance has become so popular on the platform that even Gaga herself did the dance. So what does Jenna Ortega, who stars as the titular character, feel about the huge popularity of her iconic scene in the series?

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight during the red carpet at the 80th Golden Globe Awards ceremony, where she earned a nomination for her work in the series, Ortega discussed her thoughts about the viral dance scene where she expressed her disbelief at how popular it has become.

"Even that I still can't believe. Some of the moves I had planned, some of it was improv. That was one of the scenes that I stay awake at night thinking about because I thought there was so much that I should have done and could have done," she said. "So the fact that anyone is showing appreciation and try it themselves, it's kind of not fathomable to me."

You can tell from her comments that Ortega was very surprised about the popularity of her dance scene since she has some hesitations about the moves that she made. Obviously, her efforts were all worth it and now everyone is recreating it on social media.

To no one's surprise, Netflix finally renewed Wednesday for a second season and there were speculations beforehand that the series will be moving to Prime Video since it is now owned by Amazon.

Ortega has also been receiving accolades for her performance in the series. In addition to her Golden Globe nomination (which she lost to Quinta Brunson), she received today a SAG Awards nomination for Outstanding Female Actor in a Comedy Series.
