James Gunn Confirms Matt Reeves’ The Batman Belongs In the DC Universe

James Gunn may have been fired from his MCU post, but upon landing in Warner Bros., it looks like he has taken the ideals of Marvel Studios in handling DCU projects, still. When asked by a fan on whether Matt Reeves’ The Batman is included in the DC Universe continuum, James Gunn responded.

James Gunn and Peter Safran may have just recently begun to embark on a new journey together as co-heads of DC Studios on November 1, 2022, but Gunn was quick to address a fan’s concern about their plans, asking if they plan to replace Robert Pattinson’s Batman that ‘fits’ into the DC Universe. To that, Gunn responded via Mastadon, screenshot from CBR:

“All DC titles are under DC studios.”

Interestingly, this might imply that Gunn is planning to apply the Marvel Cinematic Universe formula where every story they put out will be connected in the same universe. This could lead to more collaborations and interconnected stories among Henry Cavill’s Superman, Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam, and Robert Pattinson’s Batman, to name a few.
