Komi Can't Communicate is arriving with a coming-of-age slice of life romantic comedy shows as the shift in the anime season comes and it remains to be one of the most anticipated series that would be gracing the screens for the fall. Where is it based on, though? Is it from a manga? If so, is it complete, finished, or ongoing? Here is the current status of the series!

Komi Can't Communicate follows Shouko Komi on her very first day in an elite private high school, Itan, as she received surprising popularity. Her classmates perceive her to have a refined and stoic beauty, elegant, to be exact. Her seatmate, Hitohito Tadano, discovered that Komi has some problems in communicating and he would help her in her quest of finding 100 friends.

Coming into the fall anime season, Komi Can't Communicate will be arriving weekly via Netflix where one can access the vast library of titles within the streaming platform under various subscription costs depending on the plan you choose: $8.99 per month for the basic plan, $13.99 monthly for the standard plan, and $17.99 a month for the premium plan.

Komi Can't Communicate is based on the Japanese manga series of Tomohito Oda, both words and illustrations. The shōnen manga is released via Shogakukan's Weekly Shōnen Sunday and it has been there since May 2016. To date, there are 22 tankōbon volumes. The English release of the manga is via Viz Media where it distributes copies across North America. It is still ongoing and with no signs of ending.

In a poll from AnimeJapan, it was hailed as the "most wanted anime adaptation" of 2020. Finally, it is coming into the small screens and the wishes of those who voted for it came true.
