Over a decade has passed since the last Harry Potter movie was released. And even though avid fans have moved on to following the spin-off, Fantastic Beasts, many can't help but wish there will be a reunion project for the original cast.

And finally, it looks like those prayers have been answered! Warner Bros. is currently planning to bring back the original Harry Potter actors for their screen adaptation of the play, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.

Here's what we know about this potential spin-off movie.

Originally, Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a play that has been on stage since 2016. Ever since then, fans have been hoping that the play gets adapted into a movie.

But as revealed by The Sun, this could be coming true.

“Warner Bros is currently looking at how to bring The Cursed Child to the big screen. It has been in their sights since the play proved to be so popular in the West End. It went onto the backburner for a while because there was so much work going on with the Fantastic Beasts franchise. A line has been temporarily drawn on that for now, especially given its lacklustre performance, so it’s full steam ahead when it comes to developing The Cursed Child.”

Even though this seems like a promising development for the project, it still is in its "very formative stages." The report revealed that the producers are still discussing how to move forward with the project.

"Everyone who works within the Harry world wants Daniel to be back, but first, they have to iron out the plan for how many films it will be a reworked script and budgets."

It is said that The Curse Child will be adapted into a two-part movie.

One thing to note about Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is that it takes place around 19 years after the books. This makes it a suitable time for the original actors to return and reprise their roles.

The play follows the life of Harry (played by Daniel Radcliffe) and Ginny Weasley's (played by Bonnie Wright) youngest son, Albus. With a family legacy to live up to, it's only understandable why Albus would feel the pressure of the wizarding world.

Having the original Harry Potter trio return to reprise their roles would be any fan's ultimate dream. And if the other actors and actresses say yes, it would definitely be a reunion project for everyone. For fans, it would be nostalgic to watch the new movies with their old friends too.

According to Daily Mail, Rupert Grint expressed that he would be willing to play Ron Weasley again if "the timing was right and everyone was coming back."

Even though Radcliffe said that he was "never going to say never," he told The Hollywood Reporter that The Cursed Child is "not something I'm really interested in doing right now."

And unfortunately, Emma Watson told Giant Freakin Robot, that she would be open to playing Hermione Granger only if the Harry Potter creator, J.K. Rowling, will not be involved. It can be recalled that the two had some recent issues over their stance on certain matters.

Hopefully, Warner Bros. comes up with a solution that will equally be beneficial and pleasing for all involved-- including the fans.
