Daniel Radcliffe Let Go of His Marvel Hopes a Long Time Ago

I think we can all agree that Daniel Radcliffe will forever be associated with the Harry Potter franchise but years after his successful tenure in the wizarding world, the English actor has done pretty well for himself career-wise and was somehow able to escape the shadow of his former role. Fans have been lobbying for him to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe for years and just recently, Radcliffe finally addressed the possibility of doing a superhero project.

However, despite calls for him to replace Hugh Jackman as Wolverine, it seems like Daniel isn't actually interested in the prospect of playing the beloved mutant. During a recent interview with Insider, the Now You See Me 2 star expressed his desire to play Spider-Man on the big screen, even going as far as saying that he fits the bill perfectly. Admittedly, he has long let go of the idea and he has a valid reason for it.

Radcliffe said: "The one I would be a natural fit for has now been done by three very good actors." He was of course alluding to Spider-Man actors Tom Holland, Tobey Maguire, and Andrew Garfield. "Tom Holland is incredible and no one could ever replace him, so I'll let that one go," Radcliffe continued.

Well, if Spider-Man: No Way Home proved one thing, it's that you can't have enough Spidey goodness on the big screen so I guess Daniel still has a tremendous shot, especially with the whole multiversal concept being a thing. Personally though, I'd like to see him take on a different role and whether or not it will eventually happen remains to be seen.

Speaking of the MCU blockbuster, Spider-Man: No Way Home is now available on digital.
