Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man to Have Side Missions

In any adventure-driven game, especially one with an extensive open world, the common question is how side missions will be used so that fans can explore it. After all, you wouldn't create a game with so many twists and turns and not want to show it to your audience.

This was the dilemma that some fans of Spider-Man had when Insomniac Games showcased the Spider-Man footage for the PS4. There were a lot of action, but there weren't any glimpses of side quests and how they can be integrated.

One fan took to Twitter to ask the developer what they are planning with side missions, to which Insomniac Games responded:

There are no specific actions that were mentioned, which is understandable given the state of reveals that they have done so far. However, it does seem like the side missions would be substantial enough so you as Peter Parker can move around and explore the city.

It would be nice if they could make Peter Parker's actions and access to the city more expansive, so that it could become a full exploration title. This is essentially a must especially since the game will only be launching on the PS4, and would need as much support as its features can provide.

Insomniac Games' Spider-Man is not yet concretely dated, but the game is expected be out sometime in 2018.
