Following the huge reveal that Hugh Jackman will be reprising his role as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3, the veteran actor confirms when exactly the threequel happens with respect to the timeline of Logan and he even shared what James Mangold has to say to his return.
Some months ago, the internet literally broke when Ryan Reynolds announced that Deadpool 3 is coming into theaters in 2024 and that Hugh Jackman broke the news with him in a hilarious video, confirming his return as Wolverine as well.
Speaking with The Empire Film Podcast, Hugh Jackman reveals when the timeline of Deadpool 3 takes place with respect to Logan and what Logan director, James Mangold, has to say about his reprisal of the role in the upcoming Deadpool 3.
Jackman explains, "He was actually really cool about it. I did tell him that it took place before our movie, so it wasn't going to screw it up, like claws coming out of the grave. So, he was relieved by that, and he totally got it, that it was a really good idea."

With this, it only goes to show that Logan remains to be the retirement film of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine as the film is still set in a distant future, and even with his appearance in Deadpool 3, the events of Logan would still be existing, a great sign of respect, too, for the film.
Ryan Reynolds is set to return as the Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool 3 where he will be joined by Hugh Jackman reprising his iconic Wolverine role after years of denying and telling everyone that Logan was his retirement film for the same role.
Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick will both be back as the writers of Deadpool 3 where they will be joined by Shawn Levy who previously worked with Reynolds in The Adam Project and Free Guy.
Ryan Reynolds previously teased in a tweet in January 2021 that Deadpool 3 will be having Deadpool and Logan in some sort of road trip told in a Rashomon style, one which tells a single story through the perspective of the different characters.
Deadpool 3 is slated to release in theaters on November 8, 2024.
