The beloved merc with a mouth is finally making his way into the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Deadpool 3 is currently in progress with Ryan Reynolds reprising his iconic role. However, there is one character many fans are looking forward to seeing: Vanessa.
Will Morena Baccarin return to the film? Here's what we know:
Is Vanessa Alive in Deadpool 3?
Deadpool 3 is set to be the first film to get into the Marvel Cinematic Universe following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox and it is expected to be as wild a ride as it can possibly be.
Currently, Deadpool 3 is under pre-production and in a hilarious update on Twitter, the official Deadpool movie account confirms that the story, character, and scripts are underway. Other than that, information is not yet available to the public.
Still, there are questions about whether Deadpool’s wife, Vanessa, would be in the third installment. Deadpool 2 received a lot of fan backlash upon learning that Vanessa was to be killed in the movie but there is a possible way to revive her character now that Deadpool is a certified “quantum leaper” in the post-credits scene.

In an interview with The Wrap, Morena Baccarin, the actress who plays Vanessa, was asked whether she would reprise her role on Deadpool 3, “I know nothing, ’cause I’m usually the last to know. I also live under a rock."
In the same interview, Baccarin revealed that it was the first time she learned about Deadpool 3 having a director, "I have three kids and you’re telling me there’s a director attached. I had no idea. I heard that, finally, today. I was like, ‘Oh, that’s cool!'”
Baccarin added that she would love to be back as Vanessa but she was as in the dark as everyone else, “I hope I get to be in it. I don’t know. They’re very, very annoyingly tight lipped. I text Ryan every six months, and I’m like ‘What’s going onnnn?’ He’s like, ‘Hey, how are you? How’s your family?’ I’m like, ‘Not what I’m asking youuuu!'”
In a chat with SyFy Wire, Baccarin says her doors playing Vanessa remains open, "I feel like I got a call from David Leitch one day, and he was just like: 'You know, your scenes with Ryan are testing so well in this movie, and people are getting so upset that she's dead, so we're gonna have to leave the door open for her to possibly come back.'”
To date, only a director has been attached to Deadpool 3 with Ryan Reynolds working once more with The Adam Project and Stranger Things director Shawn Levy. Information about the movie is still in the shadows but one thing is for sure, Deadpool is going to be in the MCU.
Deadpool 3 has no release date yet.
