My Hero Academia has a dizzying array of characters with varying strength levels. Because of how many characters there are with unique Quirks, it might be hard to know just how strong a character like Ojiro is in My Hero Academia.
When talking about the series, it’s usually the likes of Deku and Bakugo that dominate discussions. Aside from these two though, Class 1-A is filled with intriguing students like Ojiro who has a seemingly simple Quirk.

Mashirao Ojiro and His Relationship With Class 1-A
Mashirao Ojiro aka Tailman is a student in U.A. High School’s Class 1-A. Even though he’s not exactly part of the main cast, many fans should remember him thanks to his memorable tail.
Unlike the loudmouthed students of the class, Ojiro is generally calm and collected. In fact, a running joke in the class is how plain he is, a fact that Ojiro is upset by.
Still, even if he’s rather plain, Ojiro is a reliable member of the class, and he enjoys a good relationship with the likes of Izuku Midoriya. Even though he and Deku are not the closest classmates, they do get along well.
As for the other students, Ojiro is shown to be close with Toru Hagakure, Denki Kaminari, and Kyoka Jiro, among others.
What You Need to Know About Ojiro’s Tail Quirk
Befitting his plain identity, Ojiro’s Quirk is simply called Tail. With this Quirk, Ojiro has a large and bulky tail with a tuft of hair at the end.
It’s not a particularly flashy Quirk, but it’s quite effective in conjunction with Ojiro’s martial arts abilities. Thanks to his tail, Ojiro can break metal objects, as well as move around the battlefield effectively.
At this point, it’s hard to fully pin down just how powerful his Quirk is. After all, Ojiro hasn’t really been the focus of any major My Hero Academia arc.
Based on the events in the anime though, we can get a good idea of his strength.

So, How Strong Is Ojiro in My Hero Academia?
It’s fair to say that Ojiro isn’t exactly the strongest member of Class 1-A as his abilities are not on par with the class’s heavy hitters such as Deku, Bakugo, and Todoroki.
That’s not to say that he’s a pushover. While he was captured in the Joint Training Arc, he has since improved his skills. He even played a pivotal role in capturing Deku during the class’s fight against him during the Dark Hero Arc.
With his improving skills, coupled with his intelligence, Ojiro is likely going to play a key role in future events in the anime.
The My Hero Academia anime will return with Season 7 in the Spring 24 season.
