Hawkeye finally concludes with the finale run, So This is Christmas?, and it ticks a lot of boxes on the questions. However, it also led to another bunch of questions, especially what comes next in the future of the characters. Here is the whole recap of what happened in Episode 6.
Hawkeye Season 1 Finale Episode 6 Recap: So This is Christmas in the MCU!
What happens behind the meeting between Eleanor and Kingpin has been revealed. Eleanor reveals that she was the one behind Armand III, that Jack Duquesne will be taking the fall for Sloan, and that her daughter, Kate, is finally home so she would now be quitting the business. Kingpin says there is no drawing a line of the business. Eleanor ensures that she has an insurance policy, having a backup plan of things she knows of Kingpin.
Kingpin wanted to give her a minute to think things through. All that happened were recorded by Yelena Belova. Kate was so surprised by everything. Clint asked who sent the video and it was Yelena. It finally got into the senses of Kate that it was her mother who wants Clint Barton dead. The image of her mother has been destroyed. She wants to talk to her mother, considering it’s a mess she made, too.
Clint warned Kate how Kingpin works. He finally admits she is his partner and that they both share one mess that they both need to finish. Meanwhile, Maya meets with her uncle, Kingpin, along with Kazi. Kingpin asks her what is going on with her. She said that she now got a clear mind and she was chasing ghosts. Maya asked for a few days off just so she could clear her head.
It was also revealed that Kingpin has no idea who the Ronin is and even said that an Avenger, Clint, got interested in their business. He wasn’t happy about Eleanor’s resignation, he also figured that Maya turned against them, too.
Kate was extremely disappointed about how things turned out. She and Hawkeye is planning something for the night and they need high-end trick arrows. They made innovations on their arrows together and it is Kate who makes cute labels on them. He offers Kate a way out but she insisted on staying. It is because heroes always have to make tough decisions.
Kate finally revealed the reason why Clint Barton inspired her: that there was an alien invasion during her childhood and that she was just alone and scared. She saw Hawkeye with a stick and a string, despite having no superpowers, he still jumps as if he could fly. She revealed to him that he inspired her that heroism is for anyone, not limited for people who fly or with powers.
That same night, the Tracksuit mafia planned something for Eleanor Bishop and if she escapes, they would be ready for her as they have her surrounded. They attended a formal event and Hawkeye lets Kate do an assessment of the room. Kate also revealed that the LARPers are the servers. Jack Duquesne is now out in jail and he is present at the party carrying a sword.
Kazi is on the lookout from another building. Also in attendance is Yelena Belova. When Eleanor arrived, Kate immediately took her somewhere and interrogated her about the video Yelena sent. Eleanor said that she was just repaying the debt of her late husband, however, Jack interrupted them. Hawkeye is on the lookout and Kazi fired one shot. The LARPers were instructed to save everyone.
As for Jack, he felt that it is his time to shine. Yelena and Kate met again and this time, Yelena doesn’t want Kate to interfere. Kate rides with them to the elevator where they fight over the buttons. It was also revealed that Kate has underneath her a new costume. Kate went to click all the buttons and that pissed Yelena off.
They had a chase and Kate still wants to stop Yelena from killing Barton. A smoke arrow hits the place where Kazi is. Kate and Yelena had fun fighting each other but she is still insisting on killing Hawkeye. As Kate jumped off the side of the building, the Tracksuit mafia arrived and she held well on her own. Jack Duquesne saves the day with his sword.
Clint and Kazi faced each other in a fight where he has to face a lot of the Tracksuit mafia. The escape plan of Clint didn’t work and he fell into the Christmas tree. Meanwhile, Jack fights other members of the gang for Kate and the LARPers were instructed to clear the area. As for Maya, she is packing her things.
The LARPers dress up so that people will follow their instructions of where to get to safety. They get the people to safety while wearing their costumes. Kate cut off the tree with an acid arrow and Hawkeye fell off of it perfectly. He was surrounded by the Tracksuit mafia and trick arrows facilitated their escape. A magnet-like arrow takes all the guns away from the gang.
The costume reveal says it all! Hawkeye is finally wearing the purple suit, just like in the comics! While it isn’t as exact as the one in the comics, it’s enough to have such a callback on his origins. Kate was so excited when Clint gave her trick arrows. An escape plan for two against hundreds? It’s a good one, a cool scene to watch.
Best arrow, another Pym one which made one Truck a Bro a minuscule toy. Those in the truck were screaming with tiny voices when an owl took the tiny truck. When Eleanor Bishop was spotted, they had to go separate ways.
Yelena arrived to face Clint, Maya arrived to stop Kazi from killing Clint, and Kate proceeds to save her mother. Yelena wanted to ask something from Clint before she kills him: that moment when Natasha died, she demanded Clint on what happened. Clint knows that she wouldn’t believe him but he still tells her that she sacrificed herself and that led to saving the whole world.
Maya was trying to convince Kazi to leave the gang behind, together, but it turns out, Maya was given the leadership Kazi was working for. In the end, Maya kills Kazi with an arrow. As for Eleanor, Kingpin faces her but Kate arrives in time. As she fires an arrow, Kingpin seems to be unaffected by it. To save her daughter, Eleanor hits Kingpin with a car.
Kingpin faces Kate who is extremely overpowered and broke all her arrows. An EMP arrow saves the day for her and Kingpin looks like he is knocked out. Eleanor promises that everything will be back to normal and Kate had her mother imprisoned because someone has to pay the price for everything that has happened.
Yelena and Clint faced each other as he still tries to convince her that Natasha sacrificed and Clint couldn’t stop her from doing so. Yelena can’t believe that Natasha did that. Yelena asked why did Natasha sacrifice herself for Clint and why does he deserve it, still, he said that she fought him to sacrifice herself. When Yelena is about to kill Clint, he whistled something that is familiar to Yelena.
Clint knew that it is a secret whistle between the sisters and Clint shared that Natasha always talked about Yelena. Clint knew everything from when they were kids to when they last met. Natasha loved Yelena so much, all she wanted was her safety. Yelena seemed jealous as to how much time Clint had with Natasha. Yelena kept blaming herself for not being there.
Clint said nothing could stop Natasha from doing so, to her choice. Yelena just loves her sister so much, she would look for answers everywhere. In the end, Yelena accepted the truth that Clint didn’t kill Natasha.
As for Kingpin, he is one and was walking with a wound when he met Maya on the road. She held a gun in her hand and Kingpin claims they are family and that there are times when they couldn’t see eye to eye. It wasn’t seen where the bullet is but gunfire was heard while the camera pans up.
One of the LARPers invited Jack Duquesne to join them. Hawkeye reveals to Kate that he made her be a better person, he also appreciates the suit they are wearing. Of all, he was so proud of how Kate stood against Kingpin on her own.
On Christmas day, Clint fulfills his promise to his family for being home in time, even bringing presents. He brought Kate and Lucky the Dog with him; Clint calls them a “couple of strays.” Clint gave Laura the watch that was stolen in the Avengers facility that turned out in the black market auction. It was a S.H.I.E.L.D. watch and Laura owns it.
Clint gets a one-on-one with Kate and they burned the Ronin costume. Kate, still quirky, asks if “Lady Hawk” is fine, or maybe “Hawkeve,” even suggesting “Hawkshot” which is like hotshot, then there was “Lady Arrow,” all names were turned down.
In the mid-credits scene, it is the Rogers the Musical and Marvel greets a happy holiday to all. The actor is singing about something strange happening in the air and they were narrating the events of the Battle of New York and how the Avengers first assembled. It was a fun song number and people would’ve really watched it in theaters if it was real.
Hawkeye finale is now streaming on Disney Plus.
