Who is the Masked Assassin who Attacked Hawkeye, Kate, and Maya?

In Hawkeye Episode 4, “Partners, Am I Right?,” when Hawkeye learned of the vintage Rolex watch that belongs to someone he knows, he tasked his wife, Laura, to track its whereabouts and she pinged Hawkeye its location. While he remains to be somewhere else when he is supposed to be with them spending the holidays, Laura is still supportive of his endeavors.

When he received its location, he immediately went there but stubborn Kate still tagged along with him. She claims to be his partner so she went with him. Upon arriving, they stopped at an opposite building to plan and do the lookout. While Hawkeye was giving instructions, Kate seems like she wanted to prove to Hawkeye that she is worthy to be a hero so she went into the apartment when she was supposed to be the lookout.

All Clint was left to do was give her precise instructions which she was able to follow. However, danger doesn’t stop there, Maya found out that she was there so she attacked Kate. Meanwhile, for Hawkeye, he was also attacked by someone he thought to be Maya but it turns out it isn’t her. Clint helped Kate escape by sending her a zipline with the grappling hook arrow.

It was a party. The masked assassin does not seem to be affiliated with Maya as she gets attacked as well. The assassin had a Widow’s bite, same as Natasha’s weapon in Iron Man 2. When Kate fired an arrow which is like an EMP, they were pained and the masked assassin finally took the mask off and the big reveal happened – it was Yelena Belova.

Yelena is the faux sister of Natasha Romanoff and she was introduced in Black Widow. In the post-credits scene of Black Widow, it was shown that Contessa Val gave her a target, Clint Barton, accused of killing her sister.

See Yelena’s first appearance in Hawkeye on Disney Plus.
