After the big reveal that Eleanor Bishop was the one who hired Yelena Belova to kill Hawkeye and she even had a meet up with the big boss, Kingpin, things went spiraling down the drain for Kate who just realized her mother is up to something, for Clint who did everything in his power to control the situation as it just got messier, and for Jack Duquesne who has been apprehended. Was he framed by his fiancée?
Is Jack Duquesne Framed by Eleanor Bishop in Hawkeye?
In Episode 5 of Hawkeye, Ronin, Kate went straight to her mother and revealed to her that Jack Duquesne was the CEO of the shell company, Sloan Ltd., which turns out to be a money-laundering front. Kate went to her apartment and found that Yelena was there and she made some mac and cheese. She threw Yelena a question of who hired her and what difference do those people have on her perspective of Clint.
Kate went home to see Jack being apprehended about being the CEO of Sloan Ltd. He asserts that he is innocent and that he has been framed because the only Sloan he knew was a woman from one of his business trips. Jack seems really sarcastic and he said he’ll sort things out and he’ll be home for the Christmas party.
Possibly affected as to who hired her as asked by Kate, Yelena goes out following Eleanor Bishop as she goes to a hotel. Being trained as a really good spy, Yelena was able to trace who hired her and it was a surprise when she informed Kate that it was her mother all along – Eleanor Bishop hired Yelena to kill Hawkeye and her big boss is Kingpin.

With everything that has transpired, Jack Duquesne claims he is innocent and he is confident he could sort things out. There goes the question of whether he has been framed by his fiancée and a lot of things that point out that he could actually be telling the truth.
First, Jack and Eleanor’s engagement came in really quick. Kate was even surprised about it. In the first episode, Kate’s mother had been arguing with her first husband, Kate’s father, on whether they’ll sell the penthouse. And then, she became the CEO of Bishop Securities. Her rise to power seems questionable and with the Duquesne family being really rich, they could have been targeted.
Second, Armand III was having a fight with Eleanor when Kate saw her at the party. It is possible that it is something about business and marrying Jack could cause them some disruption. Third, the death of Armand III was by a sword, and knowing that Jack is fond of swords, it could have been a setup to deviate the attention to him. With the wealth of the Duquesnes, if Eleanor would wed Jack, her fortune could double.
Fourth is Sloan Ltd. and the recorded CEO is Jack, something he claims he knows nothing of. Being Eleanor’s fiancé, she could easily trick him into signing papers and stuff. And lastly, Eleanor’s connection to Kingpin changes everything about her. While she truly cares for Kate, her intentions when it comes to business matters are really shady. With Jack on her side, she could be her exit plan.
