Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 will finally air this week! After a two-week hiatus, the hit medical drama will return with a crossover episode that fans won’t ever forget.
ABC just dropped an extended trailer for Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5, and it sheds more light on the bombing that will rock the Seattle fire station, as well as Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.
Here’s everything we know so far from this week’s installment.
What Is The Plot For Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5?
The official synopsis for this week’s episode, titled Bottle Up and Explode! has just been released.
“The doctors spring into action after an explosion rocks Seattle, with the incoming trauma hitting close to home; in Minnesota, Meredith and Amelia meet up with a familiar face who assists in their study,” the synopsis reads.

Who Will Be Killed Off In Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5?
The initial promo released by ABC hinted at one character’s death, and we initially assumed that Ben Warren (Jason Winston George) will be killed off.
After all, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) looks distressed while trying to contact her husband on the phone. No one knows where Ben is following the second explosion so one cannot help but think that he will die.
However, the extended trailer for Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 led us to think that Kim Raver’s character, Teddy could be the one to say goodbye.
The trailer opens with everyone panicking following the explosion. Owen (Kevin McKidd) asks for Teddy’s help in treating the patients. Everyone is busy tending to those that were injured during the bombing when the camera pans to Owen’s sister, Megan Hunt (Abigail Spencer) breaking down in tears.

It's unlikely for Megan to break down over Ben’s death, but it’s possible that she is distraught after failing to save Teddy. The two most important women in Owen’s life are very close.
Teddy’s ex, Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) is in Minnesota with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone). And the clip suggests that Meredith will be the one to break the news to Tom.
For now, all we can do is speculate on who will be killed off in Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 but we’re certain that one character won’t make it out alive.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Will Introduce A New Character
Greg Tarzan Davis has just been cast as a recurring actor in Grey’s Anatomy Season 18, according to Deadline.
The Top Gun: Maverick star will play the role of Dr. Jordan Wright, who is a resident in Minnesota.
“He’s a charming, confident young doctor who is always ready for a challenge, which makes him Dr. Marsh’s (Scott Speedman) favorite resident. Jordan crosses paths with Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) on a case she’s brought in on,” the character’s description reveals.
Wright won’t be featured in Grey’s Anatomy Season 18 Episode 5 just yet. Instead, he will make his first appearance in the show’s Dec. 9 installment.
