Gotham Will See Gordon’s New Love Interest and an Old Dead Character Comeback

It looks like Lee is not the only one with a new flame in Gotham's third season.

From the looks of it, Valerie Vale, played by Jamie Chung, will be going in not only as a new Gazette reporter, but also as a love interest for Jim Gordon. According to TV Line, the city will be in chaos following the escape of some Indian Hill occupants.

And Valerie is among the first on the scene to get to the bottom of the incident. As far as the GCPD is concerned, it seems that Valerie may not be the police's best friend. Actress Chung also revealed that her character's role is really a headstrong female whose blood runs thick with the morals of lawmen.

"She'll give the cops a lead, but continues to show up—and that makes it difficult for them to do their job. Valerie quickly realizes the kind of danger one can experience when ‘dating' Jim Gordon."

What Gordon's role this will be in this whole thing remains to be seen. It does show an interesting new side to Gordon's possible new lady interest. So far, he's had to deal with the gone-crazy Barbara and a still damsel-in-distress Lee.

Gotham's season 3 will also see the return of Jerome, the character that has hinted the involvement of The Joker in Gotham. Zap2it reported that the creators are planning to bring back Jerome to the series.

But this may not necessarily mean the return of the actual character immediately. Rather, it may be the legacy and maniacal laugh that was created in his death, to build towards the actual Joker in the series. It seems that this is he plan for Jerome, one that will last for a number of episodes.

It seems that Jerome will be coming back as a character though, but he may be unrecognizable in his "fantastic" transformation. Perhaps this will allow Jerome to extend beyond the proto-vision of The Joker and become the actual Clown Prince of Crime?

Looks like there will be a number of new introductions and proto-visions coming to Gotham later on.

Gotham will be back for its third run on Sept. 19.
