An explosive new trailer for the anime anthology series Star Wars: Visions has just landed, which makes the special-look teaser trailer we saw last month pale by comparison. Check it out below:
As you can see, there's a lot to take in from the new trailer, which bursts with energy and talent. There are powerful Jedi, Sith Lords, incredible action sequences, and one character whose number of lightsabers would give General Grievous a run for his galactic credits.
And it's more than reasonable to assume we're seeing footage from each of the nine episodes, which will be completely unrelated to one another. They are: "The Duel", "Lop and Ocho", "Tatooine Rhapsody", "The Twins", "The Elder", "The Village Bride", "Akakiri", "T0-B1" and "The Ninth Jedi".
While recent animated show Star Wars: The Bad Batch has certainly kept us entertained, as well as the live-action show The Mandalorian, it's fair to say that we've never seen anything like Star Wars: Visions before. In fact, it looks almost like it comes from a different faraway galaxy altogether.
The action-packed trailer tells us to expect "9 original stories from all corners of the galaxy", inviting us to "venture to familiar worlds" and "witness the possibilities". And there are certainly some new possibilities on display here, with an epic rendition of the iconic Star Wars theme, chased by an upbeat, electrifying score, all to a seemingly endless montage of absolutely striking animation - of which there are many styles.
The series has been created by the some of most prestigious anime studios in the world - each of which has been given free rein to tell the stories they want to tell, which means that Star Wars: Visions won't be restricted by canon, free to explore new possibilities, while also giving us familiar worlds and characters (such as Boba Fett), along with plenty of intriguing new ones, with Lop (of the rabbit-like Lepi species) certainly being one of the most stand-out in the new trailer.

The original trailer and featurette for the upcoming series launched last month, which included interviews with the show's creators, and concept art and clips from the episodes, or 'short films' as they're likely to be dubbed, given the fact it's an anthology series. Check it out below:
