With only less than a month before the age-old heroes make their MCU debut on the big screen, tons of questions are coming up as to what the film would bring into the table. One of these queries is why the Eternals stayed on Earth when they are cosmic beings not originating on this planet. Thankfully, Nate Moore, producer of the movie, shared the reason behind the group made this world their home.

The Eternals are a cosmic race of beings that are so god-like: near-immortal and powerful. Throughout hundreds of years, they witnessed various civilizations rise and die. Millenniums have passed and a conflict still underlies with their creators, the Celestials, and the other race, the Deviants. Every Eternal has a unique superpower due to cosmic energy within them.

In a set visit report from ComicBook.com, they got the chance to sit down with producer Nate Moore who shared why the Eternals remained on Earth, he revealed, "In the past we see the Eternals, who, in our version of the mythology, are immortal aliens from a planet called Olympia. They've been asked by the Celestials to come to Earth to rid the Earth of creatures called the Deviants."

Moore added, "The Deviants are these parasitic aliens who go from planet to planet, and as they kill the apex predators on a given planet, they sort of take the characteristics of those predators and wipe out intelligent life. Well, the Eternals are heroes, so they've come to earth to eradicate the Deviants and allow humanity to thrive."

The Eternals stayed long enough on Earth for a mission as per Moore, "So, in the past, we see the Eternals as they come earth as they begin their mission. And over time, they begin to succeed in eradicating the Deviants, but at the same time, these ten characters start to fracture as a team, and they start to sort of split off and go their own ways."

Moore also revealed what made the Eternals come out of hiding after thousands of years blending in with the people, "In the present, we meet a couple of Eternals,Sersi and Sprite, who now live in London, who are shocked when a Deviant arrives after not having seen a Deviant for five thousand years and they seem to have evolved somehow. So the present is very much a mystery of, 'Why are the Deviants back? Why are they different? And can we get the band back together — for lack of a better term — in time to stop this new threat?' That's the rough structure of the movie. It's epic in scope, we think."

The Eternals are as follows: Ikaris (Richard Madden) is the Prime Eternal, leader of the team; Thena (Angelina Jolie), squaring off as the other leader of the group; Ajak (Salma Hayek), a Trojan War veteran; Gilgamesh (Don Lee/ Dong-seok Ma), also known as the Forgotten One; and Sersi (Gemma Chan), an enchantress and conjurer.

Other members of the Eternals are Makkari (Lauren Ridloff), the deaf speedster; Sprite (Lia McHugh), an Eternal trapped in the body of an 11-year-old; Kingo Sunen (Kumail Nanjiani), the skilled swordsman; Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry), the blacksmith; and Druig (Barry Keoghan), an ominous Eternal.

Marvel's Eternals premieres on November 5, 2021, exclusively in theaters.
