Ellen DeGeneres and Anne Heche for three and a half years before they officially called it quits. During the span of their relationship, DeGeneres and Heche experienced some career lows for the simple reason that they were together. The comedian’s talk show was canceled after five seasons. And the actress also lost some projects because she was dating a woman.
Ellen DeGeneres And Anne Heche Have Not Been Speaking To Each Other Before The Accident
But after over two decades since their split, Ellen DeGeneres was asked to comment on her ex-girlfriend Anne Heche’s recent accident. And it was also during this moment that the talk show host confirmed that she and Heche no longer talk to each other.
“We are not in touch with each other, so I would not know. I don’t want anyone to be hurt,” she said (via Daily Mail).

Anne Heche In A Coma After Her Mini Cooper Crashed And Was Engulfed In Flames
Heche got into an accident on Friday after her Mini Cooper crashed into the parking lot of an apartment building. Shortly after, Heche sped off and fled the scene before crashing into a house and causing her vehicle to go up in flames.
Following the incident, initial reports revealed that Heche was intubated, but she also expected to live. But days later, updates confirmed that the actress is in a coma. The actress also has not regained consciousness since the accident.
“She has a significant pulmonary injury requiring mechanical ventilation and burns that require surgical intervention. She is in a coma and has not regained consciousness since shortly after the accident,” a statement released by her rep reads (via People).
Other than DeGeneres, Heche’s other ex also released a statement following the actress’s accident.
“Thoughts and prayers for this lovely woman, actress, and mother tonight Anne Heche we love you,” Tupper wrote on social media alongside a photo of Heche and their son, Atlas.
Anne Heche Being Investigated For DUI And Might Be Charged
According to reports, Heche is also being investigated for DUI. But according to Julia Jayne, founder of Jayne Law Group P.C., the actress will be charged for the incident regardless if she was intoxicated or not.
“They're going to try to charge her with something for that. Reckless driving at a minimum, if she's got no alcohol in her system,” she told Fox News.
Other legal experts also told the publication that Heche could be charged with reckless driving, hit-and-run, and DUI. On Aug. 5, the Los Angeles Police District (LAPD) obtained a warrant for a sample of Heche’s blood. However, information regarding the results has not yet been released.
