Christina Ricci and Johnny Depp starred in the movie, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas in 1998. But this wasn’t the actress’s first encounter with Depp. In fact, Depp’s ex-girlfriend, Winona Ryder, had a hand in the two A-listers talking on the phone.
During a recent interview, Christina Ricci revealed that when she was just 9 years old, she learned what the meaning of homosexuality is from Johnny Depp.
Christina Ricci Detailed Her Phone Conversation With Johnny Depp When She Was Just 9 Years Old
Their phone conversation took place while Ricci and Ryder were on the set of Mermaids. According to the former, someone on the set was being mean to another person on the set, and when a young Ricci asked Ryder what was happening, the latter called Depp and asked him to explain it to her.
“Johnny [Depp] is actually the person who explained to me what homosexuality was when I was 9. There was something going on on set and someone was not being nice to someone else. And they were like, ‘Oh, well he might be homophobic.' And then I was like, 'Well, I don't understand what that is.' And, and I was in Winona's [Ryder] trailer, and she was like, 'I don't know how…’ So, she put me on the phone with Johnny. And Johnny explained it to me,” Ricci said (via Fox News).
According to the Casper star, Depp made sure to use simple terms so that she can understand what homosexuality is at such a young age.
“He was like, 'It's when a man wants to have [expletive] with a man and when a woman wants to have [expletive] with a woman,' and I was like, 'Ah, OK,’” Ricci said.

Johnny Depp, Amber Heard’s 6,000-Page Court Documents Unsealed
Meanwhile, Depp also made headlines this past weekend after 6,000 pages of court documents were released to the public. The unsealed documents were made available two months after the jury ruled that Amber Heard intentionally and maliciously defamed her ex-husband in her op-ed for Washington Post.
The documents revealed that Heard’s legal team accused Depp of inappropriately seeking to include the actress’s nude photos as evidence during their trial. The actress’s team also claimed that Depp and his legal counsel wanted to expose Heard’s job before they met to suggest that the Aquaman star was once an escort.

On the other hand, Heard reportedly tried to submit evidence that Depp used to take prescription drugs to treat his erectile dysfunction and herpes.
The actress’s team claimed that Depp’s alleged condition is relevant to their allegations that the actor raped his ex-wife with a liquor bottle during one of their fights, according to Entertainment Weekly.
