Elizabeth Olsen Reacts to Potential Scarlet Witch Solo Movie: "I'll Be There"

Elizabeth Olsen's Wanda Maximoff certainly made it as one of our favorite characters in the MCU. After starring in different massive films through the Infinity Saga, Olsen's Wanda is set to take the spotlight as she returns as the Scarlet Witch in the MCU's highly-anticipated sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Olsen officially made her debut in the MCU as Wanda together with her brother Pietro (Aaron Taylor-Jonhson) in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron. Starting off as a villain, Wanda had a delightful character development throughout her years in the franchise. Olsen was last seen together with Paul Bettany's Vision in the highly-acclaimed Disney+ series WandaVision, where Wanda created a Hex over the entire town of Westview to create her reality where Vision still exists. The conclusion of the series also develops Wanda as her comics counterpart, the Scarlet Witch, who is a very prominent character in the source material.

Now that Wanda continues to become more powerful as MCU's Phase 4 progresses, Olsen is also set to have more appearances in the future of the franchise. And with that being said, a chance of a potential Scarlet Witch solo movie comes into question.

During a recent interview with On Demand Entertainment, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Elizabeth Olsen gets candid about the possibility of Marvel Studios developing a solo Scarlet Witch movie.

When the interviewer asked when the character is getting her own solo movie, Olsen directly responded, "Oh, I don’t know, but if they have a good story to tell, I’ll be there." When asked again if the actress plans to take a break before doing a solo film, "Yes, exactly, or even a little one. Just some version of a break," the actress responded.

Wanda's inclusion in the upcoming Doctor Strange sequel remains a mystery at this point, whether she plays as a villain or a side character for Cumberbatch's titular hero. But despite that, the Scarlet Witch is a powerful and substantial character in its source material, and it's certain that Marvel Studios won't waste the live-action depiction of the character to go to the evil side of the franchise.

Considering the expanding fanbase of Olsen's Scarlet Witch, fans wouldn't even be surprised at all if the MCU develops a solo film for the character. Luckily, based on Olsen's recent comment, it looks like the actress is ready to take on the challenge.

We will witness Elizabeth Olsen's return as the Scarlet Witch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, hitting the big screens on May 4.
