While the third season was confirmed back in 2021, it is only now that Dr. Stone Season 3 announced its release date. Specifically, a new Dr. Stone: New World trailer was released, and it revealed the show’s split-cour release schedule.

The first cour will premiere on April 6, 2023, meaning it will be among the many major shows that are coming this Spring 2023.

Given the popularity of its manga source material as well as the previous two seasons, Dr. Stone’s third season is likely going to be a spring highlight, alongside the likes of Demon Slayer: Swordsmith Village Arc.

The Dr. Stone manga may have ended back in 2022, but fans still have the anime adaptation to look forward to.

After all, the franchise continues to be one of Shonen Jump’s most popular contemporary titles.

For this latest season, the Stone Wars are over, and the Kingdom of Science and former Empire of Might forces have teamed up to sail across the oceans in search of answers to the stone phenomenon.

You can get more of a taste of what to expect via the new trailer, which you can watch here:

Season 3 features returning cast members from the first two seasons, including Yusuke Kobayashi (Subaru in Re:ZERO) as Senku Ishigami, Kengo Kawanishi (Shiraishi in Kubo Won't Let Me Be Invisible) as Gen Asagiri, and Kana Ichinose (Suletta in The Witch from Mercury) as Yuzuriha Ogawa, among others.

These voice actors are joined by Maaya Sakamoto who voices the new character, Francois.

Sakamoto is a popular VA who is best known for voicing Shinobu Oshino in the Monogatari series and Leila Malcal in Code Geass.

The anime’s first season aired for two consecutive seasons, from July to December 2019, with 24 episodes in total. Meanwhile, Season 2 only featured 11 episodes and ran for one season.

With the new trailer, Dr. Stone Season 3 is officially a two-cour show, meaning fans can expect 24 episodes in total.

However, it will be split into two non-consecutive seasons. This likely means that the second half will premiere in Fall 2023.

While there’s not a lot of info yet about the second cour, what we do know is that the first cour will feature the opening song Wasure Gataki by Huwie Ishizaki.

Dr. Stone: New World will premiere on Crunchyroll on April 6 at 10:30 AM EDT / 7:30 AM PDT.
