Doctor Strange 3 Potential Release Date Reportedly Revealed

Recently, Marvel Studios has reportedly added three MCU movies heading into production: Eternals 2, Shang-Chi 2, and a Doctor Strange 3 film, as well. Now, while they have yet to officially confirm this to be true, a new report has just revealed the release date for Doctor Strange 3.

According to insider @marvel_updat3s on Twitter, Doctor Strange 3 will be coming out by 2026. Check out the tweet below:

There’s a catch, though. See, the first Doctor Strange film premiered way back in October 2016, while the sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, was released in May 2022, which contains a six-year gap between the two films. Granted that Doctor Strange 2 had a bigger fish to fry with the Scarlet Witch joining the parade, along with the MCU debut of America Chavez, there is no denying that the threequel is more than likely to unveil more secrets behind the multiverse.

There’s also the other thing, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has been gradually decreasing their releases over the year for Marvel Phase 5, limiting the release of Disney+ shows this 2023 with Loki Season 2 and Secret Invasion. Not to mention, moving The Marvels from its initial July 2023 release up to November this year, instead.

That said, it is possible for the 2026 release date for Doctor Strange 3 to be moved further as time goes by.

There’s no telling what the studio has in store for the new MCU phase, however, this could also be a method to minimize moviegoers’ superhero fatigue from the overwhelming amount of series and films Marvel has released since last year, and also in taking more time to ensure that their releases are of highest quality as compared to their previous ones.

Let’s hope Doctor Strange 3 also receives the same treatment, given that the threequel is speculated to tie into Shang-Chi 2, which will eventually lead into Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.

Doctor Strange 3 has yet to receive its official premiere date, but is set for release sometime in 2026. In the meantime, you can stream the Doctor Strange franchise on Disney+.
