Ufotable Shares New Unmasked Haganezuka Image in Demon Slayer Season 3 Script

If there's one thing that people have been looking forward to in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3, it's the unmasking of Hotaru Haganezuka as he restored an ancient sword for Tanjiro Kamado. Not surprisingly, Ufotable is just as smitten with the swordsmith and the animation studio has unveiled a new image of the unmasked Haganezuka.

The official Ufotable Twitter account revealed the cover for Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 7 script and it features a new illustration of Haganezuka coyly removing his mask. The cover also shows fellow swordsmith Kozo Kanamori and the boy Kotetsu. Check it out below.

It's a gorgeous cover, thanks to Haganezuka's surprisingly beautiful face. It is certainly proof that the swordsmith is the animation studio's new favorite.

Hotaru Haganezuka was initially introduced in the first season of Demon Slayer as the hot-tempered swordsmith who forged Tanjiro Kamado's first sword. Haganezuka was often depicted as a comically ill-tempered man, threatening Tanjiro for damaging his swords and only being calmed by mitarashi dango.

In the Swordsmith Village arc, it is revealed he has grown a muscular built from training in the mountains and can only be subdued by tickling his sides. Nevertheless, it was Haganezuka's unmasking in Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 7 that completely won fans over.

Although people are currently swooning over Haganezuka, the swordsmith is also facing real danger. Gyokko has become obsessed with breaking the man's concentration after repeated attempts to distract Haganezuka from his task to restore the ancient sword.

Will Gyokko succeed in distracting Haganezuka? Or will the swordsmith end up being killed before he could restore the ancient sword for Tanjiro? The truth could finally be revealed next week.

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 7 is titled Awful Villain ("Gokuakunin") and adapts the manga's Chapters 116 to 117. The latest episode of the Swordsmith Village arc is now streaming on Crunchyroll.
