As the first episode’s release is getting nearer, MAPPA revealed that a Demon Slayer star is joining the Chainsaw Man voice cast as Beam. Along with this reveal, other members of the voice cast were also announced.

The new voice actors were revealed via the anime’s official website and Twitter account.

There, the voices of several Public Safety Devil Hunters along with two antagonists were revealed.

One of the biggest names in the latest cast announcement is Natsuki Hanae, a voice actor that’s popular for his role as Tanjiro Kamado in Demon Slayer, Ken Kaneki in Tokyo Ghoul, and Hiroshi Odokawa in Odd Taxi.

For Chainsaw Man, Hanae is the voice actor of fan-favorite Beam, the Shark Fiend who works under Makima and the Japanese government.

In the series, Beam plays a big role in some major fights alongside the main character Denji.

While Hanae is known for voicing popular main characters, he is no stranger to playing supporting roles too.

For instance, he voices the supporting character Elan Ceres in Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch from Mercury along with Falco Grice in Attack on Titan: The Final Season.

Chainsaw Man is an anime series by MAPPA that’s based on the hit manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto.

The manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from December 2018 to December 2020, and it continued with Part 2 on Jump+ last July.

Given the success and popularity of the manga, the anime adaptation is one of the most anticipated this year.

For reference, the show already has over 500,000 members on MyAnimeList – an impressive number for an anime that hasn’t begun airing.

Aside from Hanae, the other members of the voice cast were also revealed, including:

  • Angel Devil – Maaya Uchida
  • Galgali/Violence Fiend – Yuya Uchida
  • Princi/Spider Devil – Saori Goto
  • Akane Sawatari – You Taichi
  • Katana Man – Daiki Hamano

There are several big names in the new voice cast batch, including Maaya Uchida, the voice of Rikka Takanashi in Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions as well as Norman in The Promised Neverland.

These voice actors join the previously announced cast members which include Ai Fairouz, the voice of Jolyne Cujoh in JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean.

Chainsaw Man Episode 1 is set to premiere next week in Japan, with a simulcast on Crunchyroll in English soon to follow.
