The latest episode of the Swordsmith Village arc has just been dropped but people are already looking forward to next week. After all, the official title and key art for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 7 confirms that the anime will adapt one of the manga's surprising chapters.
The key art for Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 7 was shared by the franchise's official Twitter account. It features a close-up of Tanjiro Kamado's face similar to the last shot in the previous episode. It appears that Tanjiro is shouting something and his words might be directed at the one he was attacking in Episode 6.
In addition to the key art, the official title for Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 7 has been confirmed. The title for next week's episode is Awful Villain ("Gokuakunin"), which also happens to be the title of the manga's 116th chapter.
So what will happen in the seventh episode of the Swordsmith Village arc? We won't spoil everything here but Chapter 116 is supposed to be one of the most surprising chapters in Koyoharu Gotoge's manga.
In Chapter 116, Tanjiro continues his attack on Hantengu but things don't go the way he expects. Although he believes he can deliver the finishing blow, something truly unexpected happens and the Demon Slayers are forced to face the accusations of a truly awful villain.
Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 6 featured the continuing fight against Hantengu's four emotions as Genya Shinazugawa grudgingly agreed to work with Tanjiro and Nezuko. The episode also revealed Genya's tragic backstory and how he became estranged from his older brother Sanemi Shinazugawa.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 6 was titled Aren't You Going to Become a Hashira? and is now streaming on Crunchyroll. Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 7 is titled Awful Villain ("Gokuakunin") and will premiere on Sunday, May 21, 2023.
