Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Season 3 Episode 6 proved to be an exciting one as the fight against Hantengu's four emotions continues. However, the latest episode of the Swordsmith Village arc also gave viewers a tiny glimpse at joy as young Sanemi Shinazugawa got his debut.
In Demon Slayer Season 3 Episode 6, Tanjiro Kamado discovers that beheading Hantengu's four clones is not enough to kill the Upper Rank Four. Once they begin regenerating, Tanjiro realizes that there is a fifth clone and orders Genya Shinazugawa to go after it after Genya declares that he will become a Hashira.
Genya chases the fifth Hantengu form while Tanjiro and Nezuko keep the other clones at bay. However, Genya is unable to decapitate the demon as it causes his sword to break. Even the Nichirin gun does not work and before Genya could react, Sekido attacks the Demon Slayer with his lightning staff.
As he ponders death, Genya remembers his tragic life with his older brother Sanemi Shinazugawa. Although they were close as children, their relationship was greatly affected by the death of their mother who had turned into a demon and was killed by Sanemi.
Although Genya initially blamed Sanemi for their mother's death, he secretly regrets the harsh words he had spoken to his brother. Genya then recalls happier times when he and Sanemi agreed to protect their family after their father was killed.
At the last moment of the memory, Genya remembers Sanemi laughing and cherishes his smiling face. Not surprisingly, even Demon Slayer fans are loving how different young Sanemi was from his adult counterpart.
Sanemi Shinazugawa only appeared briefly in the first season of Demon Slayer but he immediately left a lasting impression on viewers by trying to prove Nezuko's bloodlust. We'll see more of him in the next season.
