Production is currently underway for the upcoming MCU series Daredevil: Born Again. While the plot details are being kept under wraps, it will bring back Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio in their respective roles following the original Netflix show.
For the past several weeks, we've been hearing some updates about the series including the casting of new cast members to play the supporting roles and the interruption of their filming as a result of the Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike.
Wednesday Star Hunter Doohan Reportedly Joins Daredevil: Born Again
Now, it looks like we have another casting update from the series as The Cosmic Circus reported that Wednesday star Hunter Doohan has joined the cast of Daredevil: Born Again.
They claimed that the actor has already been filming in New York City for some time now. While there are no details about the role that he is going to play, it is speculated to be a substantial role based on the amount of time he has spent on the set.
The outlet was also able to confirm the actor's recent sighting in New York City and has noticed that he is mutual on Instagram with actress Margarita Levieva, who is also part of the series.
So far, Marvel Studios has not confirmed the actor's casting yet so we still have to take it with a grain of salt, but the evidence that the report provided shows that it is likely to be true.
If Doohan is indeed part of the cast, he is certainly a great addition since he has proven through his role as Tyler Galpin in Wednesday that he is a talented actor and he is also one of the rising actors that Hollywood should be looking out for.
We might hear more details about his alleged casting in the series in the coming weeks or months as production is still ongoing until near the end of the year.
Who Else is Part of the Cast of Daredevil: Born Again?
Besides Cox, D'Onofrio, and Levieva, the other confirmed cast members include Michael Gandolfini, Nikki M. James, Michael Gaston, Arty Froushan, Clark Johnson, and Sandrine Holt, the new actress who will play Vanessa Fisk. Jon Bernthal is also set to return as Frank Castle/Punisher.
There is no synopsis for the series at the moment, but it is expected to consist of 18 episodes and it will be part of Phase Five of the MCU. It will also be set after the events of Echo, which also features Cox and D'Onofrio.
It is unknown yet whether the WGA strike will impact the production overall and we will keep you updated for more news regarding the show's progress.
