A lot of MCU fans are looking forward to the upcoming series Daredevil: Born Again with Charlie Cox and Vincent D'Onofrio returning to reprise their respective MCU roles. The series is expected to consist of whopping 18 episodes and it is slated to be part of the Phase Five slate.
Recently, we learned that Jon Bernthal is also confirmed to return as The Punisher in the series after playing the role in the Netflix shows while Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played Karen Page and Foggy Nelson respectively, are not expected to return in the new series.
Some fans have been wondering whether some of the other main characters in the former Netflix shows will also be recast or whether Marvel Studios will hire the same actors. Now, we have the information for one of the key characters and it looks like a recast is now expected for it.
In a recent report from The Hollywood Reporter regarding Michael Cuesta's hiring as the director of the show's first episode, they revealed that Sandrine Holt, who was previously reported to be part of the cast, is portraying the role of Vanessa Fisk, replacing Ayelet Zurer, who played the part in the Netflix series.
This is the first sign that some of the characters are indeed going to be recast in the series and it does pose a question of whether it will also happen to Karen Page and Foggy Nelson if those characters are going to be part of the new series.
It also remains unknown whether this is an indication that this new series is not the same version as the Netflix shows given the different actor who is now portraying the role or this is just simply a recast since Zurer is not available throughout the year-long filming schedule.
The cast also includes Michael Gandolfini, Margarita Levieva, Nikki M. James, and Michael Gaston. Matt Corman and Chris Ord also serve as the head writers/showrunners of the series. Filming for the 18-episode season began recently.
