Christina Ricci Hypes Up Netflix's Addams Family Series Wednesday

A few years ago, we learned that director Tim Burton is developing a new Addams Family series for Netflix titled Wednesday which will be a new take as it will focus more on Wednesday Addams' high school years. Later on, rising actress Jenna Ortega was cast to star in the series and, a few weeks ago, we learned that Christina Ricci, who famously played the role in the 90s, is also going to be part of the series.

Per ComicBook.com, during a recent panel appearance at Pittsburgh's Steel City Con, Ricci revealed that she has already finished filming Wednesday and then she went on to praise her co-stars, especially Ortega who is set to become the successor of the iconic character that she previously played.

"I just finished it two weeks ago, and it was great," Ricci said. "It was great working with Tim, and Jenna is amazing. I think people are going to absolutely love her as Wednesday." She also praised her co-star Gwendoline Christie by calling her "incredible" and the young cast members adding, "All the kids in it are really fantastic, so I think it's gonna be great."

It sounds like Ricci had a great time working on the series as she complimented her co-stars. It's also great to hear from her praising Ortega's performance of Wednesday Addams which we will see soon. It's also a wonderful affirmation coming from an actress that everyone is associated with the role and it should give excitement to fans who have been looking forward to the series ever since it was announced.

Per the official logline, Wednesday is "a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams' years as a student at Nevermore Academy. Wednesday's attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the supernatural mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago — all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore."

Besides Ortega, Ricci, and Christie, the cast also includes Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzman, Riki Lindhome, Jamie McShane, Percy Hynes White, Hunter Doohan, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Emma Myers, Naomi J. Ogawa, Joy Sunday, Victor Dorobantu, Issac Ordonez, and George Burcea.
